This repository contains the AJA NTV2 V4L2/ALSA driver.

10.11.x (El Capitan), 10.10 (Yosemite), and 10.9.5 (Mavericks). However, for. AJA KONA, Io and T-TAP Software Installer - macOS v14.0 www.aja.com. Dec 06, 2018  Kona 3 has been replaced by 3G for at least a year now, if not longer. So I am sure why this is a surprise. Kona LHe has also been replaced by Kona LHe Plus for several months now. Edit: Kona 3G replaced Kona 3 in NAB 2011. LHe Plus replaced LHe November 2011.

Requirements

Builds in 3.10.0 <= linux (64 bit) <= 5.1.0 (approximately)

Building the Driver

The v4l2/alsa driver is located in /driver. A simple 'make' will buildthe driver. If there are build errors they may be due to v4l2 interfacechanges. To manage this there are several kernel version #ifdef(s)in ntv2_common.h. The kernel versions are approximate; you may needto adjust them for your kernel.

The driver has been tested on several Ubuntu versions and Centos 7. Recentupdates of Centos 7 require that NTV2_USE_SND_CARD_NEW to be defined inntv2_common.h. Uncomment (remove //) this line near the end of the file:

//#define NTV2_USE_SND_CARD_NEW

If any system with a pre 3.16 kernel crashes when the driver loads thismay be the solution.

Loading the Driver

To load the driver use: 'sudo ./load'. The script modprobe(s) severaldependencies before loading the ntv2video.ko driver. There is also anunload script. Unloading the driver requires exiting any applicationthat has opened the driver including the system audio mixer (pulseaudio).
